And so it was, that in 2006 Springsteen fans were eagerly awaiting the release of the 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' (Darkness) thirtieth anniversary edition. Four years later the day has finally come, or at least has been announced. The Promise: The Darkness On The Edge Of Town Story is due to be released in USA on 16th November 2010. This means that, in the UK, the big day is Monday 15th November.
We were expecting something along the lines of the 'Born to Run' boxed set - a making of documentary, a full gig on DVD and a remastered CD.
Backstreets published an April fool (this year I think) suggesting that there would be several options when the thing actually came out, ranging from a couple of discs up to an eye watering pack, including about 10 discs of outtakes, several DVDs etc etc. As it turns out they were nearer the mark than we might have thought at the time.
